         <title>The Epicenter</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>     The epicenter is the point above of where a earthquake occurred. The hypocenter is the point under. The epicenter of the Tangshan earthquake is at 39.6* N and 118.2* E. The epicenter is found by measuring the time between P and S waves then converting that into a distance and doing the same 2 more time s and triangulating the distances. P and S waves are surface waves.( similar to ripples in water). P waves are primary and weaker and S waves are secondary and stronger.( S waves are slower)<br>     Tangshan is located 68 mi east of Beijing. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>     The Tangshan earthquake had a devastating amount of casualties. It had the most amount of deaths in 400 years. The quake collapsed 85% of Tangshan's building. Bad soil liquefied and buried entire neighborhoods. There were over 240,000 casualties. The quake was even felt in Xian(410 miles away) and affected buildings up to 87 miles away in Beijing. </div>]]></description>
