Definitely take the time to address the group project immediately. First, get the best contact information and start talking right away. Figure out if texting or email will work best for quick responses. Then choose your books and start reading right away. Have your individual part completed early so enough so that you can get it graded and share it with your team. GOOGLE DOCS is amazing! Everyone can edit the same doc at the same time and you can view the edit history. Video conferences are amazing as well. Helps build a different type of rapport with your team. Share leadership and responsibility. Take charge where you are comfortable and don’t be afraid to let others lead.

Take the time to really take in the information in your chosen book and use it to look at how school leaders perform etc. It is a very useful group project and I learned a lot through my reading, in addition to my group members shared information.

The best thing my group did as a piece of advice was we always communicated. We all had whats app and communicated often this kept everyone in the know, as at times emails are not checked as regularly so this is a wonderful way to keep in touch to avid misunderstandings.

Communication is key and a foundational leadership skill.

Open and honest communication is a true sign of maturity. Enjoy your experience.

Next, we set up a zoom meeting to discuss who will tackle each portion and how. Once we completed our part, we communicated through Zoom once again to review our project.

Collaboration can be difficult for some people. Many people work at different paces or had different schedules. Clear communication is going to be key on figuring out when you will meet or who will do what part of the project. One person might take leadership in communicating due dates or to create a plan of action based on schedules. One might create a template for the work to be written into. There will be opportunities for everyone to take on a leadership position. Being in a collaborative project is about sharing the roles and work. Not one single person will be in charge of the entire thing. Just communicate with respect and the group will be successful.

Collaborating with others can be challenging so I would suggest reaching out to the group first through email and finding out from them what platform they feel comfortable using for working together. My group communicated through our touro email and then set up a zoom meeting so we could talk and work on the project collectively. Schedules may prove hard at times but be flexible in working around each other. I would also suggest creating a google document that you can all type into together, this way you can hold each other accountable for completing the work together.
