The grace of God was a gift of salvation and by receiving this you were reborn to live uprightly. She had been accused of doing witchcraft, but since she was sick she convinced people otherwise. Her and a few others claimed people were sending spirits to make them ill, accusing many of being witches. In the picture you can see a girl on the floor which is what they would do to make their accusations more believable. This theory was a creation of a new colony that would be a place of complete reform where God could be found in scripture. Within this theory a strong education system was created to teach men to be preachers and read the Word of God. They believed that education was important in order to read the Bible and receive salvation.
