Sandro Botticelli was born in 1445 in Florence. he would become an artist in the Florentine school supervised by Lorenzo de Medici. Eventually he would come under the patronage of the Medici family and would create multiple arts under them. in his later years he would do commissions for others including the church. eventually he would come to meet a Dominican scholar named Girolamo Savonarola. In the end he would die with little employment in his old age, having been part of overseeing the placement of Michelangelo's "David."
