<title>Action Plan and Communication for School Improvement Strategies (School Improvement Plan) Schools Included: Boyette Springs Elementary School, Pinellas Park Elementary, Tyrone Middle School and Terwilliger Elementary SchoolSIP GoalsSchool Accountability Committee Opportunities for stakeholder engagementStrategies to increase motivation, morale, and promotion of collegial effortsNew strategy and reason for subgroupBoyette Springs Elementary School1) School culture will strengthen when students and staff have a shared sense of purpose, a collaborative environment, and joyful learning experiences.2) Student achievement will increase when standards based lessons are designed with the mindset that all students can make gains. Administration sends out a weekly parent link and phone calls to keep parents updated on important events. Parents receive a weekly Wednesday folder that goes home with every student for parents to get important information. There is a Facebook page where the community stays informed of school events. Our PTA and SAC sponsors plan and implement functions to build relationships between staff and the community including dances, dinners, meetings, carnivals, and educational nights. For the educational and family nights, our administration, staff, and PTA board members work to get the community involved in our school by defining the importance of education and finding a way to benefit all parties involved. The school incorporates local businesses for educational nights and local restaurants for spirit nights. Cub scouts partner with the school to implement service projects, Kiwanis sponsors a monthly Terrific Kids program. The Student surveys and School perception survey will be used to monitor effectiveness of the action steps toward SIP goals. 1) An area for improvement as indicated on the School climate survey indicates that only 64% of students stated that they enjoy coming to school. Students need a reason to want to come to school each day. Students should be provided with joyful learning experiences.2) Teachers do not have the resources and training to plan standards based lessons. Teachers also lack content knowledge in some areas to plan effective, rigorous, and engaging lessons. 1) Honor Roll students who exhibit positive character traits will be invited to join the Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society. They will participate in service learning and give back to the community. Students will have the opportunity to participate in leadership roles such as patrols, I-Care helpers, Peer Mediators, Morning Show Crew, library helpers and various jobs at JA Biztown. It will also be monitored during walk throughs by administration to ensure that the students are actively participating in their leadership roles. All teachers will create during school enrichment clubs and interested teachers can provide after school enrichment clubs. 2) Utilize the district provided early release Mondays, once a month to allow grade level teams common planning time. The Instructional Leadership Team will review and discuss student work to monitor student gains. Teachers will receive professional development on effectively planning using curriculum and standards and how to effectively use the Common Core Companion &quot;Burke Book.&quot; Pinellas Park Elementary1) All instructional staff will provide data driven ambitious instruction aligned to Marzano’s framework of instruction to include scales. 2) Provide an environment that is safe and civil, fosters positive relationships between staff and students, and respond to students’ academic needs.3) The staff will be active and committed partners in school improvement over time through the use of data. Staff will encourage and support each other through empathy and sharing of professional knowledge.4) Bradley MOU: If teachers implement high interest standards-based instruction, then the achievement level of black students in reading will increase. All parents and stakeholders are given surveys at the close of the school year seeking their input on activities, training, and materials they needed to help their child for the upcoming school year. Results of surveys are reviewed by the SAC to determine needed changes in the PIP and SIP. During the SAC meeting when the PIP and/or SIP are developed, the committee will decide, with the input from stakeholders how funding and areas of improvement will be determined. An area for improvement as indicated on the AdvanceED climate survey indicates that only 36% of staff strongly agree that they receive supervisory feedback to improve student learning. As a result the administration team will utilize iObservation reports to ensure that all staff receive an equitable amount of feedback from both administrators in various content areas. Administration team will meet weekly to set the observation schedule based upon iObservation data reviewed.1,2 &amp; 3) Technology implementation of data sources at the core level to include technology based instruments to track student behavior, progress monitoring, and student achievement. behavior data. 4) Implement technology-data driven weekly grade level PLCs to discuss student progress using data. Data sources for supplemental instruction are gathered as determined on individual student plans and collected by the student services personnel assigned to the student. The same process is used for meeting the requirement of the Bradley MOU, but progress monitoring occurs on a weekly basis.Terwilliger Elementary1) Establish a safe, positive, and respectful environment to ensure that all learners acquire the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to become independent thinkers in order to succeed now and in the future.2) Terwilliger Elementary works at building positive relationships with families to increase involvement, including efforts to communicate the school&#39;s mission and vision, and keep parents informed of their child&#39;s progress.3) Instructional staff will provide rigorous, data-driven instruction to increase student achievement in reading and math. The school completes a Parental Involvement Plan (PIP), which is available through the Continuous Improvement Management Parent input is collected every year to determine what information should be shared with parents. Assistance and resources are provided through business partners in the community to help support the parent involvement program. The committee along with other faculty members will plan parent involvement events in some of the school’s larger neighborhoods during the evening when most of the parents are available to attend. The parent involvement committee will plan activities that include engaging projects for the children while parents are provided information on how they can academically help their children at home. At these events, students are typically provided with a free book and parents receive handouts on effective strategies to help with student learning. .1) School-wide expectations must be set and established at the beginning of the school year, and a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) system should be implemented.2) Create and communicate a vision and school goals with stakeholders, providing opportunities for continual input.3) Students will receive 90 minutes of rigorous reading instruction a day, data will be tracked and used for instructional purposes to meet the needs of all students. Tyrone Middle SchoolStandards Based Instruction: The achievement of all scholars will increase when students are engaged in rigorous tasks/assignments that are aligned to grade level standards and data is being used to drive instruction.Achievement Gap: The achievement of African American scholars, scholars with disabilities and ELL scholars will increase when meaningful relationships are built with adults within the school’s community and scholars are engaged in high yield instructional strategies that meet their diverse needs.Early Warning Systems: The on time promotion of all scholars to high school within three years will increase when a proactive response, utilizing multi-tiered systems of support, is implemented to reduce the number of scholars exhibiting two or more indicatorsCulture: Establish genuine relationships between peer to peer, peer to adult and adult to adult, as measured by the increase of positive responses on school climate surveys.Tyrone Middle School conducts ongoing parent meetings in an effort to provide ongoing, open, two-way communication with parents, families and the community in an educational setting to ensure all stakeholders are aware and involved in the school’s activities through a variety of settings in an effort to increase scholar achievement.Data was collected from all staff via 0365 virtual brainstorming, and from stakeholders in school climate surveys in an effort to identify ideas to enhance relationships between teachers, staff, parents and students and resolve challenges related to school climate. All affected stakeholders were invited to convene and review the brainstorming notes, prioritize data and devise action steps. School leaders took ownership of the action steps.SBI/EWS: Host a digital parent data chat meeting for targeted scholars in selected subgroups after first, second and third quarter.Continue to increase SAC/Parent/Community involvement and attendance via use of innovative and digital conferencing. AG: Implement community mentorship program to mentor at-risk AA students. Culture: Establish and communicate school core values to all stakeholders. Implement digital surveys to frequently monitor the input from stakeholders. </title>

<title>Communication: To ensure creating a positive school climate, we must assess where the school is currently and how procedures can improve. Having parents and families involved in the process of that assessment will reveal authentic and functional results. Presenting data to school faculty about their current procedures will help them determine where families and community members feel they need to be supported. It is important to include everyone’s voices: teachers, other school staff, students, parents, and school leaders (Zakrzewski, 2013). Looking at our SIP goals, students need to be engaged in rigorous and meaningful learning with standards based lessons that are aligned to grade levels. All students will gain equal opportunity to succeed by receiving differentiated instruction that meets the diverse needs of students and allows for students to take ownership of their learning. Students will be active participants in collecting data on their performance and determining goals for enhancing their skills and learning. Data will be shared with families on a consistent basis to ensure learning opportunities continue. Teachers, students, and parents are collaborators in learning. Goals should be set based on student needs, and communicated to the families for maximum student achievement. The teacher should adjust instruction based on student readiness and learning styles, while building upon and working with student differences. Teachers will participate in professional development to gain knowledge in effective lesson planning that uses curriculum and standards to create rigorous and engaging learning opportunities. </title>
