Rebekah is following in Adam + Eve's footsteps by trying to trick those who are the caretakers. Like Adam + Eve eating the apple to try and become more like God, Rebekah works with Jacob to trick Isaac and give Jacob the blessing instead. The consequences for Jacob because of this are that he also tricks his father, along with tricking his brother Esau earlier, and runs away from home out of fear of what his brother would do to him.

Jacob is the more gentle of the brothers. He is his mother's favorite and he prefers to stay inside. Esau is a hunter and is covered in hair. He also smells bad. He is his father's favorite. He is the oldest and should get the inheritance. Rebekah is very smart and a trickster. She favors Jacob, so she has him trick his father into giving him the blessing. Isaac is the father and he favors Esau. He is dying and is blind. The twins don't get along initially because Jacob is jealous of Esau and his inheritance.

Rebekah and Jacob use deception because Jacob wants the blessing and the birthright and Rebekah wants him to have it, not Esau. They only care about Jacob getting the birthright and use any means to get it. This isn't fair because the birthright was rightfully Esau's. This tells us that sin affects everyone and no matter how good a person is, they will still sin.

After Jacob flees in fear of Esau, he stops to sleep and rests his head on a rock. While he is asleep, he dreams of a ladder that reaches all the way to Heaven and sees the angels using it to travel between Heaven and Earth. It is here that God speaks to Jacob. He tells him that He is with Jacob wherever he goes. This changes Jacob as he realizes that everywhere is God's land and how it must be treated with respect. The one thing Jacob did that changed everything for the better is promising God one-tenth of everything God gives him.

Jacob is visited by an angel, although he is described as merely "a man", and they wrestle until daybreak, during this Jacob's hip is dislocated. Afterwards the angel asks Jacob for his name and after he responds the angel blesses Jacob and gives him the name of Israel, for his efforts in earning God's forgiveness. This is important as it determines the name of the Israelites, and this name is important as it shows that no matter what you can overcome your past and become one with God once more.

The dislocated hip comes from Jacob, now Israel, wrestling with the angel. It symbolizes what Israel had to endure in order to realize that God forgives him, and to move closer to God once more. His name change also symbolizes this along with symbolizing a new beginning for Israel.

This play give the audience a take away. It shows them how Bible stories still connects with our today. The ending just need to be improve .We did enjoy the humor in the play. Like the teasing and tough love between Rebekah and Jacob.
