1969 President Nixon declared that the 1970's "must be the year when America pays its debts to the past by reclaiming the purity of its air, its water and our living environment."

1970-1972: Created EPA which passed Clean Air Act.

 The EPA was created to repair the damage already done to the natural environment and to establish new guide lines for Americans in making a cleaner environment a reality.

Endangered Species Act: Passed  December 28, 1973, it was designed to protect certain species from extinction.

At a time when Americans were more concerned than ever with conserving their natural resources. This legislative act provides the Federal Government with needed authority to protect and identify any signs of endangered species,allowing them act quickly to save them from extinction. 

Kyoto Protocol: The Kyoto Protocol was adopted in Kyoto, Japan, on 11 December 1997

On 21 December 2012, the amendment was circulated by the Secretary-General of the United Nations
