#1- Can you change your mindset? What is a situation where you heard a fixed mindset voice?

You can change your mindset if you try. Those who have fixed mindsets, can work toward a growth mindset by being more positive. There is always room to grow. The quiz results stated that I have mostly a growth mindset, but there are often times I find myself having a fixed mindset and I step back and try to work myself to a growth mindset. I tend to get defensive when receiving criticism, especially at work. If my supervisor tells me something I am doing wrong, it comes off to me like she is saying I am a horrible worker and I try to take the blame off me by saying that wasn't me who did that or it wasn't my fault. When I look at what has happened I realize my actions and learn from my failures.

#2- Do you have a choice? Can you change the *fixed mindset voice* when you face challenges, setback, and criticism? How does this apply to your situation provided in question # 1?

If we are aware of our fixed mindset then I think it is possible to change it. You can make the decision not to be defensive and to take the blame for your actions. While at work I can take up for my actions instead of putting the blame on someone/ something else and realize my supervisor is just trying to better me and not just getting onto me.

Yes. You can tell yourself that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. If you fail at a task, tell yourself to get right back up and try again. Many successful people had failures. When I'm told I did something wrong at work, I can try harder next time to improve and get better.

She feels like being hearing impaired contributes to her being more closed minded.
Shanitia has mostly a growth mindset and has trouble with older people who typically have fixed mindsets because they are stuck in their own opinions because they are "older".
