Moreover, Fuengirola has excellent facilities such as the Castillo Sohail, the Permanent Fairground or the Peace Palace, which allow the organization of important events that ensure fun throughout the year:
 
 -International Music and Dance Festival held in July (at Sohail Castle).

 -International Fair of Nations (Feria de los Pueblos). At the fairground, it is held  a large festive gathering of culture and tradition of more than 30 countries, offering a spectacular display of its gastronomy, art and folklore are mixed in a relaxed and nurturing environment.

-Beer Festival. This popular Bavarian festival also takes place at the Sohail Castle. It is held in July and August and lasts 11 days.. 

 

- The Medieval Market, held in the Sohail Castle for four days in August. There you can find all kinds of products and engaging activities that turn the visit into a time travel and a walk along the Spain of jugglers, craftsmen guilds, traditional gastronomy, etc.
 
 

All in all, Fuengirola offers an extensive cultural program, including exhibitions, concerts, theater, dance, workshops .....

 LA PESETA  (THE PESETA)

The town of Fuengirola dedicates a memorial to the peseta in connection with the disappearance of the Spanish currency in 2002 by the introduction of the euro.

It is a green space of over 7,000 square meters in the area of Los Pacos, between Pacosol street and Reina Doña Juana street. It is equiped to practice sport outdoor, street basketball courts, to play football panna 3x3, skate zone, ping pong fixed and upgraded areas to play chess.

Riverside Park (Parque Fluvial)
The Parque Fluvial is also worth mentioning. There you can practise a great deal of sports.

Our roundabouts, squares and street corners are adorned with a considerable number of sculptures. Works of art produced by prestigious national artists.

With the intention of getting quality art out onto the street, in the eighties a series of large format paintings were painted on the party walls of some buildings in the town, by esteemed, state-of-the-art artists.

Transport
As for transport, Fuengirola has both a train and a bus station, as well as taxi service.

Eating out
You can enjoy a wide offer of  places to eat out. You may want to go to the  beach and sit by the sea in a chiringuito (beach bar) or taste delicious ´'tapas' in the town centre, in the gastronomic market or in typical bars, like Casa Colón or Bodega Charolais.
