In late 2004, Disney released the movie, The Incredibles. This movie was made over a family of modern-day superheroes, who were forced to live the lives of everyday people instead of being heroes due to all the lawsuits and economic problems they cause. Years after all the superheroes were forced to live normal lives, Mr. Incredible can't take it anymore sitting behind a desk, causing more harm than good in his job. He sets off to get his power back but is stopped by his #1 Fan, Buddy, or Syndrome, making him pay for not letting him help Mr. Incredible. In the end, the Incredibles family managed to overcome Syndrome and the rest of society by being their true selves.
The Incredibles truly represents living in nonconformity throughout the movie. While living the normal life, they seemed to not fit in and not being able to live up to their true selves. But by the end of the movie, they were able to use their wasted power before, into something that could be useful to all. The whole movie can show that "to be 'incredible' is to be misunderstood".

Dreamwork's Shrek was released in 2001 and since then, has made 3 sequels to the ever-so-good series. In the movie, we dive into the magical world of fairytale creatures, where they are being forced by Lord Farquad to be sent away and live by his rules. Farquad evicts the creatures to Shrek's swamp and he must go on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona and return her to be Farquad's wife.
Shrek can play a big role in showing others how simple he can live. In the beginning of the movie, we see Shrek going about his simple and daily routine when a group of villagers is setting out to get rid of Shrek. Shrek, who has plenty of experience of these groups of people, goes out "empty-handed and without anxiety" to simply talk to the villagers and get them "OUT OF MY SWAMP!" Shrek can do this every day because he isn't afraid of others who want him to change or leave from living his easy and enjoyable life.

The hit series, Man vs. Wild, starring Bear Grylls, became a popular TV show on Discovery Channel starting in 2006. This series includes Bear heading out to survive in very intense environments. From rocky mountain terrains or arctic tundras to huge rainforests or deserts, Man vs. Wild included a vast amount of different places where Bear was able to survive.
Man vs. Wild couldn't have brought out nature any better than it did. Bear Grylls wasn't forced to do the things he did but instead enjoyed seeing and surviving around the world. For Bear "breathed after his own fashion" when surviving and competed with nature to "see who was the strongest."

From CBS's hit primetime series NCIS (2003-Present), Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, acted by Mark Harmon, provides a great example of using his intuition over reason. In the show, Gibbs and his agent team investigate crimes that happen in our country dealing with the Navy. To do this well, Leroy, a Marine veteran from Desert Storm, has lots of crime scene, interrogation, and investigation experience. In order to catch the bad guys, Leroy uses his 'gut' to guide his actions towards bringing those to justice before he has facts or a warrant to get them by the book.
Gibb's 'gut' feeling is commonly mentioned throughout the series and always proves those against them (and even those on his side) wrong by acting upon his instinct. For Gibbs, he trusts his gut feeling "to the end" even without any facts or proof to bring those to justice and make the Navy and the country a safer place.

Disney's WALL-E came out in mid-2008 as a movie about the future when humanity had to leave Earth due to it being inhabitable. They left in huge spaceships (somewhat like a cruise ship) headed towards space. When the left, many WALL-E robots (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class) were sent out to organize the trash laying on Earth. Although there were hundreds (if not thousands or millions) of WALL-E's made and were activated, only one survived. This is the one we see in the movie.
WALL-E is a great character for showing how to rely on himself for his life in the 'wasteland' of Earth. Instead of doing things the way the other WALL-E's did, this one was able, "in the midst of the crowd" to grow a personality and live a full life while also rebuilding humanity's return.
