Finnish is a very tough language, but for sure I will try to learn it in the near future, I loved it.
Over all, Roosa was a great Tandem partner, not only was she a good teacher but spending time with her was awesome. Made me realise once again how nice finnish people can be.

The most rewarding thing about teaching my own language, was to realize how great it actually is and starting to appreciate it more. It was also rewarding to notice Marina learn some new things about Finnish language and culture. Sometimes it was difficult to try to explain why some things go as they go or how some rules in the Finnish grammar are, and sometimes I had to use books to find the best and easiest way to explain stuff.

Best activity was cooking Spanish and Finnish food together, because obviously we both love food, and the food really reminded me of my time in Spain. It was also a good opportunity to go through some vocabulary in the subject, and we talked about Spanish food culture and all the dishes.

Because I went to Spain as a exchange student, I already knew something about Spanish culture. Regardless, Marina was able to explain some things about the culture that I had always wondered or never fully understood before. Also, Marina is from a different part of Spain than the city were I went, so I learned new things about Valencia area.

About my culture, I learned how foreigners see Finnish habits, people and so on. While explaining things to Marina and compairing our cultures, I got to thinking our culture more deeply than before.

Most rewarding learning experience was to be able to ask Marina some things about pronunciation, grammar and ways of using some words that I had always wondered, and she was really good at explaining them.

While teaching my language, I had to recall all the grammar rules, which was a good thing. I also learned that Finnish is actually a really, really hard language to learn and teach.

Over all, tandem studies were really good and cool experience, and it was really nice to meet Marina and spend time with her.
