Animal Farm by George Orwell is an allegory about the Russian revolution. It has characters based off of large contributors and people in the russian revolution. The characters in the rebellion are animals on a farm that are mistreated and given the bare minimum of everything just so they survive. When the animals on the farm have eventually had enough and were fed up with the way that Mr. Jones was treating them they held secret meetings and planned to overthrow the humans and make their own way to govern themselves from old major's teachings of animalism. They make a set of rules or commandments for everyone in their kingdom to follow. When Mr. Jones finds out that the animals are plotting to overthrow him he and other farmers attack the farm in the battle of cowshed which resulted in Mr. Jones death and a victory for the animals. The animals need to come up with someone as a leader and two people run in the election Napoleon and Snowball. During the election it seems that a win for Snowball is in the near future so Napoleon deals with Snowball and sends vicious dogs after him to chase him away and have Napoleon win by default. They start the construction of a windmill for the betterment of the animal farm it is mostly built by Boxer with his hard working skills and his motto “I will work harder” he works hard to build the windmill. After the windmill falls during a storm due to faulty construction Napoleon tells the citizens that snowball was behind the destruction of the windmill turning the animals against Snowball. Napoleon and the pigs who are in charge of the animal farm start to break the commandments and start to heavily drink alcohol which is against the commandments and change the commandments so they are in favor of themselves. Nobody can stand up to the changes because nobody can read except Benjamin who refuses to say anything because he will be killed if he does. The pigs become alcoholics and run out of Mr. Jones supply of alcohol. As Boxer’s health decreases and he becomes unable to work the pigs tell everyone they are sending him to a hospital to get him better when they are actually sending him to a slaughter house so they can get more money for booze. As years pass more and more animals die off. When it is just Benjamin and Clover left alive the only two animals left who remember the old rebellion. Clover asks Benjamin to read the set of commandments and there is only one left “All animals are equal except for a select few who are better than others”. That represents how much a government can cripple and get corrupted from its original state. And during the book it shows how over time Napoleon and the other pigs became more and more like humans which is the reason they formed the rebellion in the first place.

Joseph Stalin became in power of the communist party after Vladimir Lenin's death. When he was a child in school other kids would bully and pick on him leading to him using cruel punishments for those who crossed him. Stalin made shrewd appointments and consolidated his power so that eventually all members of central command owed their position to him . And by the time anybody noticed it was too late. the In the 1920s and 30s Stalin organized collective farms so the harvest would be given to him. Stalin also made gulags or prisoner camps where the prisoners would work long hours given little food just so they could survive so they could continue to work for him.Stalin told the North Korean president to invade South Korea thinking that America would not interfere resulting in the start of the Korean war. Stalin's health began to deteriorate in the 50s and after an assassination attempt was uncovered for him he ordered for it to be stopped but died naturally later.

paragraph to compare both subjects and tie them together

The two subjects are similar because Napoleon didn't care about the citizens in the animal farm and took all their stuff so he could get what he wants and survives living it up in the farmhouse not a care in the world except for him getting what he wants and the building of the windmill so he would be more comfortable. And he fed false information to the citizens saying "Napoleon is always right" and how he was a great hero and person so the citizens would like him and trust him and not question his authority. And what Joseph Stalin did was similar because he let out propaganda to the citizens so they wouldn't question his authority and revolt against him. He also used the military to gain power of Russia which is similar to what Napoleon did to Snowball during the election he took out the competition so he would win by default. Joseph Stalin also did not care about the citizens and let them die and did nothing so he could live and he became what they formed the rebellion to go against in the first placed he became as corrupt as the tzaars.
