The story touched my heart. The young couple sold their most precious items for buying Christmas gifts to each other. Although the ending was dramatic, it showed that there was true love between them. I believe that true love is much more precious than money. Love is measured on sacrifice.

DQs
2. I would do the same thing as the couple. I believe they made an unwise choice by selling their most valuable things; however, at the same time, they made the most wise choice because that was true love.
3. The most important part of the story is that the couple was not frustrated. Instead, they were calm, and understand their love for each other.

Discipline: Short story

Summary: Magi cut her beautiful long hair. And sold it for buying a gold-watch chain for her husband as a Christmas gift. For the same reason, her husband sold his ancestral gold watch and brought combs for Magi. They were still very happy when they recived the gifts, though the gifts were useless.

Respons： This short story reflected the diffcult life of the bottom people at that time. Author wanted to satire a general point of view during that period which is money supremacy. But it also showed the beauty of selfless love from people.

This short story reflected people's different thoughts. At that time, people wanted to leave their most precious things to each other. Although the methods were different, they all wanted a good result. It also shows the love between people. I found the most interesting thing is that people want to leave the best things to each other but the result can not match. Just like the people in this story, he bought a comb for his wife but his wife sold her hair for a present.

DQs
I didn't read O. Henry's product before. I don't think it has common points with "the Gift of the Magi".
I will sell my golden watch or beautiful long hair if I were them. Although the result is disappointing, it can reflect my efforts for one thing.
