Their family all had a passion for music and encouraged Sigrid's love for singing and songwriting. In fact, when she was 16, her brother, also a musician, offered her an opportunity to play during one of his set, but only if she could perform an original song. Sigrid hurried to write something so that she could have her moment in the spotlight. She later entered the music industry in the early 2010's, releasing promotional tracks to help get noticed by a record label. This hard work paid off and she got signed to Island Records. Her debut single, "Don't Kill My Vibe," co-written by Martin Sjølie, in February 2017. Music lovers ate it up and more successful singles followed shortly after.
