My first time at the beach

In 2012 I was five, and I went to the beach for the first time in Cartagena. my mom and my little brother traveled with me, and there we met with my uncle, I was excited and I still can remember how amazed I was for touching the sand, I was playing when I felt something picking my skin, I found out it was a little crab and that freaked me out.

The cat and the kite

When I was in second grade I decided to do my kite, I told to my mom and she asked my grandfather but he didn't have the time, i was sad and disappointed, but then my cousin said that he could help. We were doing our kite in the garden when I saw my brother spreading food on the floor, it accidentally fell into my kite and a crazy cat came to us and decided it was time to eat. My kite was ripped up by the cat. I was angry and distressed about the situation.

The competitor

In the past I used to be competitive with everything, in 2014 I was in school, and there was always some type of competition. That day two classmates and I were the finalists in a dance, I was so euphoric because the prize was a make-up set; while I was dancing I hurt my feet, I was angry and sad about myself but I kept dancing because I wanted the prize I was putting effort in, at the end I won, I went to my house and celebrate with myself because of the satisfaction and joy I was having.

The birthday

On my 8th birthday, I was told that I wasn't having a party, at school my classmates gave me presents and congratulations I felt better but I was still frustrated. In the afternoon my dad drove home, and when I arrived I didn't see anything because my mother and sister were covering my eyes, I also didn't hear anything, but they told me to shower, I did it and then I was surprised by a princess dress, I thought that was everything but in the garden were a lot of my friends and family, it was a party! I was content.

Making friends

2016 was a new year and I was moving to a new class. I had a shy personality, and being in a new place with new friends was terrifying for me. The first week I felt lonely, but one day I decided to start a new conversation with my classmates, i bought candies for them, because I thought that would help, i gave them the candies I started talking, and it worked! I was so joyful, I understood that sometimes you need to have the initiative.

the mathematician

when I initiated my academic life as a sixth-grade student I already knew that math wasn't my thing, but I was relieved by the I can do it mindset. Once in class, I was introduced to the harder way maths can be for a person like me, I told my friends with confidence that I could do it right, however, the next day came and I failed everything, my trust in my abilities was gone, I was disappointed in myself, I stopped trying and left maths. My professor saw my change and talked to me, and he told me about perseverance that changed my mind, I started to believe in myself and suddenly I improved my skills, and I felt proud of myself.

The puppy

My brother and I were united, we shared wishes and even tastes, he used to be desperate for a dog as much as I was, and my mom was annoyed because we begged too much about a pet. One day our neighbor called us and we went to her house, she was holding a puppy! my brother and I were enthusiastic, we brought our dog to the house and my mother was angry, she immediately rejected the idea, but was night already so she told us to give that dog back in the morning. We went to sleep but she stayed, the next morning we found the dog with tiny clothes! my mother got attached to the dog and let us keep it, we were in total amusement, I can tell it was the happiest day of my life.

The accident

Vacations were something that as students my brother and I desired every year, that's why in July of 2019 we were euphoric about going on vacations to Cartagena, where my brother, my mom, and I stayed with my sister. One day my brother went crazy and started climbing my sister's house, she yelled at us and said that he was going to fall, but he ignored her and then, he fell. He was bleeding and my sister cried a lot, I was nervous because of him and the fact that my mom told us to behave, finally my brother was brought to the hospital. In the end, he was ok and nothing worse happened.

The trip

Way before the covid was such a well-known thing my family planned to carry my brother to a zoo in Barranquilla because of his birthday, he was excited and so was I. There in the zoo entry, my aunt was almost fighting with a lady who disrespected her, I was embarrassed and my brother was too, my aunt was so angry that she told all of us to go, I saw my brother was about to cry and my sister was irritated. Fortunately, my mother calmed down my aunt, she apologized to us, and we went to the zoo, everyone was radiants and happy because my brother enjoyed the trip, and now in my memory, it is my favorite.

The dog

I had my dog for so long that it was considered family, back then I didn't think that it could leave us. My house was a calm space because of it. One morning, I woke up, and my mom let my dog out in the garden, it had space because we were living with my grandparents to take care of them, my dog took its time, it ate, walked, and played, for a moment I didn't see it, and I heard my mom, she screamed. My dog was dying because it ate a poison, I was anguished, and my family was too, in the end, it died and was buried. the whole situation is a sad memory.
