Many groups formed during this year. Multiple groups formed to fight for the schools to be reopened. On June 18,1959, these school closings were declared unconstitutional. On August 12,1959, the schools were declared to re open. This is also when the groups disbanded (but if this were to happen again in present day I definetly think that the groups could reform.)
2. Governor Faubus tried to keep this from ever happening. The reason why The Little Rock Nine had such a hard time inaugurating into the school was because of Faubus' interferences. While he was running for a third term as governor, the government told him to continue with desegregation.
3. During The Lost Year citizens voted on how the schools should continue on after The Little Rock Nine events. This vote was essential in the standing of schools opening and what the classes would look like. Would the classes be integrated or segregated? It was only the high schools being closed, and I wanted to know why only high schools. If they felt it was such a big problem, why not just close all the problems until the problem is fixed?
