The National Anthem

The National Anthem was adopted in 1997. It is a combination of two songs, named "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" (English: "God Bless Africa") and the Afrikaans song "Die Stem van Suid-Afrika" (English: "The Call of South Africa"). The song is about the people asking the lord to bless and protect south africa, to end all conflicts, and in the end they sing that the people have to stay united (and avoid apartheid 2).

Johannesburg is the biggest country in south africa, but not the capital. Although Johannesburg is larger than the capital Pretoria, is it not the capital. There live about 6.3 million people in Johannesburg. The city is only 60 kilometers away from the capital Pretoria and is in rapid development.
It goes so fast that it is believed that the two cities will merge and become the largest city in Africa with over 20 million people. The city has the biggest airport in the country and is therfore the busiest city because when tourist come to the country it is Johannesburg most lands in and spents the night at.

In 1795 the English. invaded the Cape Colony and took charge from the. Boers. The Boers decided to leave the colony because they didn't like to be ruled by others. They started to build their own republics. Then their started this big adventure. The boers packed everything they owned into ox wagons and left the coast to search for new places. They travelled across wild rivers and big mountains and met. wild animals and disease. This adventure was called " Great Trek".

Today the boers countries arre Swaziland and Lesotho.

The greatest. African. nation was the Zulu kingdom. When the boers came to Zule kingdom their leaders of the two groups had a meeting, because the boers asked for some land. The leader of Zulu kingdom promised them some land but it was all a trick. Soon after the meeting the Zulus killed 500 Boers and black slaves.
In 138 the boers came back to take revenge. They were stronger then the Zulus because they had guns. Over 3000 Zulus was killed.

Apartheid happened in 1990-1993. Where people of color was forced to move because there was made a system called Apartheid. They were divided into three grupes it was black, Colorreds and white. In this time it was expesoly hard for the black because if you had to put the three groupes from best to worst it would be The whites, then the Colorreds and then the black and that ment that they were put in the situation where they were left with for exsample really bad educations.
If the black was found in the wrong place they would have to face a surten time of jail.
