His attitude is tactical and organized, and clearly meant to reassure American citizens and seek revenge for the damage done on his nation. However, in his fathers eulogy, he puts on a personal and grieving persona, which humanizes him and his father. His attitude is mature and comforting, which is meant to comfort those mourning with him, and leave a positive legacy for his father, whom he looked up to and adored.

Although in both cases Bush is speaking to the whole country, the circumstances differ. In the 9/11 address Bush's main audience is a shocked and confused American public, seeking reassurance and guidance after the tragic attacks on the twin towers. His father's Eulogy speech also addresses the American public, but Bush's persona is much more personal as he speaks as a grieving son, reflecting upon the influence his father had on him, and also the impact he left on American history as a president.

Although these texts are very similar there are some differences including use of Tone. In the Eulogy the tone of the passage was more positive and expressed a lot of good descriptive lines like "He was a genuinely optimistic man, and that optimism guided his children and made each of us believe that anything was possible". This passage is slightly different compared to the 9/11 address in terms of tone. In the 9/11 address it focused on reassuring the country of the events that had happened. Aswell he addresses what they are going to do going forward. What was mentioned in the text was "These acts shattered steel but they cannot dent the steel of America resolve". That is one of many great examples showing that the speaker uses a passionate but comforting tone. Overall these two passages reflect different tones with the same sort of purpose.

He makes a call to action to the United States to remain strong and to continue to help others in his 9/11 speech. He is also very serious and that is relayed in the intensity of the message, instead of the proud and at peach tone in his Eulogy.

In the 9/11 speech, the personal feelings are there because it is his country and his people. As president, he feels it is his job to protect and help the nation. However, the eulogy is much more personal. He doesn't know the majority of the 9/11 victims, but he knows his father very well; he speaks about specific events and specific connections that only someone with a close relationship to him would know about.

On the other hand, the tone of the Eulogy was more to humanize his father to people who didn't know him personally. George W. Bush spoke about many of his father's core values and what he was like outside the office. The tone of his father's speech was less formal than the 9/11 address.

Yet during his Eulogy for his father though there is an air of mourning towards his speech it's much more light hearted and rather humanizing which isn't surprising considering the extreme differences between the scenarios
