During the session, we learnt about Niyyah.
Niyyah is the root of all our actions. Before our actions, we must set niyyah that we do things to gain pleasure of Allah.

Great things about niyyah is that, even if we had intentions to do bad things, we shall not be punished until the deed is done. Contrary to when we had good niyyah, we had already been rewarded the moment we stated our good niyyah.

After that, we proceed with presentation from 2 groups.

On week 5, my group and I presented our topic which is What We Gain by being patient.

1. it teaches to remain collective domain, specifically when facing opposition or encoutering problems,
setback or unexpected results.

2. When you are patient, you are able to clearly map out how each decision and effort you make in life will affect your long-term goals, and are able to persevere because of it. Patience is an invaluable resource that can improve your decision-making skills.

3. SO MANY TIMES IN OUR LIFE WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS WE FEEL LIKE ITS THE WORST THING HAPPEN TO US.BUT THEN AFTER THE TRIAL, WE REALIZE THAT THE DIFFICULT TIMES HAPPEN FOR GOOD TO COME.IF WE DIDNT RECEIVE THE REWARD IN DUNYA THEN SURELY WILL BE SAVED IN THE HEREAFTER.[Those who remain patience will enter into paradise] (25:75)

 4. patient people tend to experience less depression and negative emotions, perhaps because they can cope better with upsetting or stressful situations. They also rate themselves as more mindful and feel more gratitude, more connection to mankind and to Allah “Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without Hisaab (without limit, calculation, and estimation)."
(Quran, 39:10).

5. achieving your goals. Facing and overcoming obstacles builds endurance and confidence. And the satisfaction you receive from achieving each milestone goal helps you to stay motivated in your career

On this week, we learnt about the Zakat.
Zakat is an ibadah that involves Maliyyah or material. Literal meaning of zakat is clean, holy, increasing, and expanding.
The benefits of zakat are heavy on the receiving end. Technical meaning of zakat is spending part of our fortune to a certain rate and conditions to those in need. Zakat is a must for everyone who is eligible (who fits the description).

Zakat is categorized into 5 parts.
1. gold
2. silver
3. business
4. farm animals
5. plantation

There are a lot of benefits gained from zakat. First is impact to Islamic brotherhood. Helping each other out when in need will help people to be closer to each other. Second is a test to our Iman, our tawakal to Allah. People usually are very fond of their fortune and have hard time to spend their money. Those who willingly spend their fortunes to the right way is a good muslim. Other than that, zakat can brings us closer to Allah, gain pleasure of Allah, and prevent ourselves from spending fortune in a wrong path.

On the last meeting of usrah, we learnt a little about Hajj.
During haji, there is an ibadah that is called Saie. This action is when we went back and forth from Safa to Marwah for 7 times. This action is to remember the sacrifice that Hajar had made in order to find water for her son. From this story, we learnt there are things we must sacrifice and work hard in order to gain success.
