I have two cats: Minnie (tortie) and Ziggy (orange). We just got Ziggy in December '23. He is 10 months old. Minnie is 8 years old. They are working on being buddies, lol!

My mom inspired my love for Halloween and Christmas! My birthday is October 3rd, so I feel like I like Halloween juuuust a smidge more than Christmas due to this 🎃.

My husband and I are HUGE fans of The Lord of the Rings series. We went to New Zealand in March '23 to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and visit Hobbiton! My husband is my best friend and he's a huuuuuge movie buff!

I also love me some Hocus Pocus, Goodfellas, The Big Lebowski, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

I haven't been in school since 2015, so I am nervous jumping back into education. I am excited to start my journey as a therapist though! Being a dental hygienist has brought a wide variety of people to my clinic. People who have a lot of anxieties and traumas. It's not all just cleaning teeth. I have one hour with a person and sometimes those people need someone to just talk to. I see a lot of patients who suffer from anxiety and depression and have to work with them to help them find a way to fit hygiene into their daily schedules. I actually worked in a dental spa with patients who had a lot of high anxiety around dental treatment. Some days they would just come into my room to just talk and I wouldn't even clean their teeth!

I have always been told I am such a good listener and a very empathetic person. The past few years I have been trying to figure out how to get out of hygiene, but still help people. My mother passed away in September '23. She was my best friend. She passed from a very rare aggressive cancer. This inspired me to finally pursue my passion and become a mental health therapist or grief counselor. My mom was always so kind and taught this to me also. I want to continue to spread her kindness and empathy in the therapy field.

I have lived in San Diego, California due to my husband being stationed in the Navy there for 1.5 years.

Yoga

When I get some time to myself I love doing yoga! Trying to be more mindful and slow down these days. Yoga helps with both, but can also be a wicked workout 💪.
