The story revolves around the main character Anya being diagnosed with alopecia. Throughout the book, Anya navigates through having to overcome obstacles within herself, her changing family dynamic, and her relationship with her peers at school.One of the reasons I enjoyed this book, is because it's told from two different perspectives. The story alternates being told through the lens of Anya, and the lens of one of her peers, Keely. It was also heart-warming how Keely stood as an advocate for Anya and her situation. She proved how bystanders can become supporters of people going through difficulties. The rumors, accusations, and reactions the students in the story had when finding out Anya's "secret" is a perfect example of what NOT to do.
