I think that while Mae Tuck goes visits her sons' that she encounters Winnie. I think she thinks that Winnie is lost and probably takes her in. I also think that the strange man is either Winnie's dad, or Mae's husband that she does not remember...

And Winnie is no longer patient, and is debating on weather or not to run away. Maybe the man is looking for Mae? And if Winnie runs away, could the connection be with Mae too? The man that comes to town might be looking for Winnie thus far they would all be connected because Mea Tuck would be with Winnie wile the man is looking for her. But I also have a theory about Tuck. She visits her sons every 10 years! that means she would only be able to see them about 3 times before she dies!!! Why in the world would anyone not wont to see their son more than 3 times! What I think is going to see her sons is actually a cover for something else.
