In Stranger Things, a popular science fiction show featured on Netflix, Steve Harrington is a dynamic character. At the start of the series, Steve behaved very poorly: he bullied a social outcast named Jonathan Byers and pressured Nancy Wheeler, his then girlfriend, into moving too quickly in their relationship. However, later in the series, Steve becomes a much better person. For example, he travels to the Upside Down (an alternative universe) with Nancy's little brother Mike and his friends. Though they are quite nerdy, Steve no longer cares about social class and helps the boys out during a dangerous time. Clearly, Steve changes in a positive way throughout the show.

In the television show, "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", (caos) a new netflix original based off of the comics of the same name, the character Prudence, one of the weird sisters, is dynamic. Prudence starts as a very rude, stuck up character, who thinks she and her sisters are better than Sabrina because Sabrina is a half breed, a half-witch, half-mortal who attends the Academy of Unseen Arts, as instructed by the unholy High Priest. The academy is for full bred witches only. Whereas Prudence is a full bred witch. When Sabrina asks for Prudence's help in exorcising a demon, in exchange for being "worshipped", she reluctantly accepts. As the two witches embark on their journey, Prudence begins to "go soft" as her sisters would say. At first, that thought got to her and she felt like she had to show them that she was stronger, but then she realizes that the way that her sisters of all people think about her, is not nearly as important as doing what she believes is right. Eventually, she does pick up her rude habits again, but a piece of what Sabrina taught her, stuck with her. She then slowly began to act nicer towards Sabrina, minus the hexing (tormenting by using magic) and voodoo she had caused. She realized that Sabrina was special and that she could learn from her. Even though Prudence still acted snobby towards Sabrina, that was just who she was. Prudence did in fact, grow as a character.

Because of this, Violet, Sunny and Klaus Boudelaire are trying to expose him so he will not do any harm to them. Even though Count Olaf and his team fail at capturing the siblings every single time, the team will never stop trying.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a dramatic, horror fiction Netflix television show. The protagonist of the show, Sabrina Spellman, is a static character. During the beginning of the ten-part series, Sabrina was very always resolute to accomplish anything she set her mind on. Moreover, she always wanted to do the right thing, but her "right thing" would often be selfish for her friends (or her own) needs. This was shown when she used her powers to take revenge on the teacher to help her friend stop being bullied. Similarly, she was shown to have these same traits at the end of the series. For example, when two witches attempted to kill her boyfriend, but ended up killing her brother, she killed one of the witches to resurrect her boyfriend's brother. Although, she would not listen to her well experienced family who incessantly begged her to not resurrect him. That was due to the fact that she tried to form his death in her own selfish ways, which would be punished, and ruin everyone else's lives - even the lives of the people she wanted to help. Nevertheless, Sabrina was still selfish and continued to insist that she was doing the right thing, even though she always knew something bad would happen. Sabrina also showed a strong sense of determination when she attempted to save her boyfriend's brother, despite the fact that it went against all laws of nature.

The character, Kim, in the movie Edward Scissorhands, is a dynamic character. This reason for this is that her opinion on Edward, a young man who is different because he has scissors for hands, changes throughout the movie. In the beginning, she dislikes him and finds him strange because of his outward appearance and mousy attitude. For example, when he approaches her and her current boyfriend to socialize, they immediately stop laughing and teasing each other. Additionally, they simply stare at him. Edward feels alienated when this happens. Towards the end, Kim begins to see the value within Edward and starts to enjoy his company. This is displayed when he runs away from home, and returns after Kim's parents had left to search for him. Kim expresses her worry for Edward, and causes him to realize that she cares for him. Kim notices that he is not as much of an outcast as others have portrayed him to be, and accepts him. Kim had changed her perspective on Edward Scissorhands, which makes her a dynamic character.

He failed to join the Hitler youth. Though this was what seemed like defeat to him, Alfred became a worker, being observant and really "smart". Alfred's personality never changes, he stays the way he is. Thinking about how he is important, and always right. This shows during his conversation with Hannelore. In addition, his ignorance to everything does not help.

In the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter is a dynamic character. When he began school, he was not confident because he did not know of his reputation yet. He had been under the thumb of the Dursleys and had been treated like he was inferior, so when he found out that he was a wizard and then went with other people who seemed to know a lot more then him, Harry did not believe he was special. By the end of the book, however, Harry has more of a leadership role. He started and maintained Dumbledore's Army and ran off to collect and destroy Voldemort's horcruxes while knowing that the odds were against him, yet he pushed on. Harry even confronted and disobeyed the Dursleys multiple times, leading to him staying in other places for extended periods of time. At the beginning of the series, Harry Potter entered Hogwarts and the wizarding world with low self-esteem and zero leadership skills, but by the end of the series, his experiences had strengthened him. He once only relied on others, but by the end, he fought Voldemort by himself.

The character, Bill, from the movie It, had changed substantially throughout the movie. At the beginning, he was a nerdy, optimistic boy who was looking for his, supposedly, alive little brother, Georgie. He went missing after getting sent out in the rain, alone, by Bill on one faithful day. He believes that it is his fault for sending him out, and the guilt is shown throughout the movie, almost being his downfall. He was a very static character at the beginning, not changing his views on what he though happened to Georgie, but became a dynamic character as the movie went on. However, at the end Bill becomes the leader of the "loser squad" and choreographs the attack on Pennywise the clown, who had eaten his brother. He had become braver and stronger while protecting himself and his friends.

However, in the last movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, when Harry's aunt, uncle and cousin are forced to leave their home, Dudley makes an effort to make things right.

In the movie IT, Georgie is a static character. Georgie's only main appearance was in the very beginning. He portrayed trust in someone that he did not know. Although he doubted it at times, he never lost his trust until it was to late for him to turn around. Although one could claim that Georgie showed stupidity, he really just had trust in this clown but was foolish. Static characters are mainly more minor characters, therefore this description accurately fits Georgie.

In the beginning, he doesn't want to help save the ocean research team, even though he is familiar with the enormous shark. Even as the Megladon eats many people and ruins the ship, he is grumpy and angry and refuses to help capture and kill the dangerous forty foot shark. However, as the movie progresses, he becomes more helpful and helps lead the team. In the middle of the movie when he starts to help more, he and one other character are able to come up with a plan to kill the Megladon, and their plan works. This shows how Jonas is becoming more helpful and is using his past experience with the monster to kill it and save everyone. Finally, in the ending scene when the team is trying to save a crowded beach full of people from a second Megladon, Jonas dives into the water to kill the monster. Even though he could have died, he was able to kill the monster and save everyone. Clearly, Jonas changes from beginning to end.

In the story A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen, Officer Müller is a very dynamic character. Towards the beginning of the story, he did what pretty much any other typical "Grenzer" (Eastern German policeman guarding the Berlin Wall) would. When he noticed Gerta, the protagonist, gazing hopefully at the wall, he became suspicious, and he warned her that she should never again look at the wall as if looking for someone, otherwise a bullet from his rifle would somehow happen to find its merry way into her head... however, when he discovers the tunnel that Gerta and her brother Fritz have been so riveted on for so long, he agrees (after quite a bit of convincing) to let it slide, under the circumstances that they allow him to come to West Germany as well. However, if another guard should happen to discover the tunnel., he would not hesitate to kill them. To make a long story short, he ends up travelling with them in the tunnel, and is resolute to make sure that Gerta makes it safely to freedom that he ends up with a bullet in his back, and also ends up unfortunately buyin' the farm. This shows just how much Müller's view and opinion of the East-German people changed. He came to realize that it really was not just that they should have to be put in such an oppressive cage in which they were incapable of doing pretty much anything they pleased. The fact that he decided to put Gerta before himself in the tunnel means that he feels that she deserved freedom more so than he did, and so his realization only seemed to give him

At the beginning of the story, she constantly tells Gerta and Fritz to stay safe, and they they are never going to see their father and Dominic again. When Gerta sees Dominic across the wall, she makes nothing of it and keeps going on with her life like nothing happened. Gerta's mother was not taking any risks at the beginning of the book, which changes later on. Near the end of the story when she realizes that Gerta and Fritz are tunneling out of the wall, she at first scolds them and tells them never to go there again, but then joins them as she ponders the ramifications of digging versus the payoff. Therefore, Gerta's mother is a dynamic character.

In 47 meters down, a movie about two young sisters getting trapped in the depths of the ocean, Lisa is a dynamic character. At first, Lisa is eager to go in a cage under the waters to see the sea creatures lurking underneath, and even convinced her unwilling sister to do it with her. Even when the guy who was helping them see the animals illegally put food in the waters to lure the sharks, she was still willing to go, which shows that she is a risk taker. However, when they are trapped underneath at the floors of the ocean with sharks attempting to devour them, she starts to panic and wishes she never convinced her sister Kate to go with her. She even says sorry to her for ever mentioning the idea of getting in the cage. This incident obviously changed her and made her less of an adventurous person.

In the book Prisoner of Night and Fog, Gretchen's brother Reinhard is a static character. Throughout the book, he has no change in mindset. He is just as cruel to Gretchen in the beginning as he is in the end. In the beginning of the book, Gretchen talks about all of the cruel pranks he has done to her. Later in the book, he physically attacks her, and by the end is still forcing her to do things against her will. He never realized how horribly he was treating his sister. His ideas of the Jews do not change either. In the beginning of the book, he tries to attack a Jew on the road. By the end of the book, he still wants to kill the Jews. How he thought of them never changed, and he always viewed them as "subhuman" like Hitler said they were.

In the show Riverdale, one of the characters, Cheryl Blossom, is a dynamic character. In the beginning of the show, she was very rude and haughty. She acted as if she was above everybody else. However, as the season goes on, Cheryl shows a humane side of her. She begins to show that she is vulnerable and very deeply affected by her brother's death. In the end of the season, she even attempts to commit suicide, which is very big contrast to her personality in the beginning. Luckily, Archie saved her, and although she did not become an amazing person by the end of season one, she did change throughout the show.

In the novel The City of Dreaming Books, Optimus Yarnspinner can be seen as a dynamic character. One main change that he goes through is becoming more courageous and venturing out into the world where he has never been before. In the beginning of the story, Yarnspinner states himself that he has never went out into the real world, and is afraid to do so. As the story progresses, he becomes brave enough to venture into the unknown to find the missing author. One main example of this is how he travels to the City of Dreaming Books and searches everywhere. He eventually enters the catacombs, which are extremely dangerous areas located under the city, to find the person who he needs to find. This shows a change in character as at the beginning of the book Yarnspinner would never have dared to travel the distance that he had to meet the author, and would not be able to bear the hardships that he eventually went through. Therefore, because he changes greatly, Optimus Yarnspinner can be considered a dynamic character in the novel.
