For example Deja vu 
I made this connection because deja vu is a controversial topic that can be argued from either side of the conflict quite easily. Alot of people who don't understand deja vu tend to take the spiritual route when trying to explain it. The most common results are psychic abilities , memories of a past life or dream state future predictions. While the scientific community would attribute deja vu to memory retention, confusion of similar topics or subconscious memory retention.

Since we know little to nothing about the topic the only true logical answer we can firmly give the topic is that it is unexplained. This leaves a lot of room for guess work, but the final scientific answer available is that we truly don't know.
For example the legend of Atlantis.
I chose this connection because not only is it a fascinating story but it also has people believing in both sides of the argument. One side says its a story of fiction to drive home a point to be morally correct. The other side says its a true account of history that has been lost to myth due to the lack of information regarding the subject. The conflicting views on the topic and the massive lack of information on the legend makes it a perfect candidate for the unexplained belief.
