I think that a snake will come into the nursery and try to kill the baby. I think the mongoose will stop the snake before they kill the baby. I think this will impact the story because then the mother would respect the mongoose and everyone would be happy. I think this because when the author talks about if a snake came into the nursery, the mother said no that could never happen. Also, Dorothy was already with tin man, lion, and scarecrow. This is interesting because in The Wizard of Oz the author doesn't describe the yellow brick road and if so, he doesn't mention how broken it is. I wonder why the author didn't include the bad parts of Dorothy's journey? The last thing they tried was some kind of magic. I think that maybe Elphaba was just green skinned and a violent baby and that the magic spell back fired and made her evil. I think this because the parents were hesitant about trying the magic. Last time the parents were arguing they were foreshadowing what was going to happen.
