A lot of big ships came in for trading and selling purposes. It would be like a New York shipping harbor. Where as when Denis and Francis went there, it was just a small fishing village. There was no major ships coming in and out. There weren't as many people. Some of the similarities would be that they both stayed in mid evil side hotels. It was also still a port, but it wasn't as big as it used to be

There wasn't any good connections between them and other countries which made it impossible for people to cross. They weren't allowed in to the country because of the war. They ended up having to pay $100 fine to get through the ¨Friendship bridge¨. Where as Marco was given a golden passport, a letter of introduction. He was able to get into the country because of the letter. The letter that they got from someone in power had the same purpose. It gave them the rights to enter and given safety by guards and guns.
