My name is Melody. My hobbies include reading, listening to podcasts and spending time with my loved ones, while that has been a bit challenging with the pandemic and all I've managed to maintained the relationships in my life that matter most to me and that has been very pertinent to the quality of my mental health which is also a topic I am very passionate about. I am especially interested in Janet Lansbury and her work around gentle and respectful parenting. I also enjoy watching silly shows like Bob's Burgers and Schitts Creek.

 I am taking this course to further expand my knowledge of how I can better guide my child and the children I will be influencing in the future. I am very passionate about childcare and intend on attaining a degree in child psychology. My greatest accomplishment thus far has been raising my son alone and getting myself back into school. It was something I have wanted to do for a long time and had a lot of guilt and shame around coming back to. I feel so proud of myself for being able to get myself to a place where I can set a positive example of my kid.
