They were taught about the Ancient Egypt on the previous class. Teacher instructed the pupils to find information about Ancient Rome and Ancient China on the Internet at their home. Pupils collaborate in groups to create an infographic about the ancients.

₊˚⊹ ᰔ My thoughts on the activity ₊˚⊹ ᰔ

This activity integrated language arts and visual learning as the pupils learned to arrange the pictures according to the topics and write facts that they found from the Internet. My pupils were very happy throughout the activity. They did a great job at completing the infographic within the time given, which was quite surprising for me. I really love the outcomes of the infographic. It was easier for them to understand the topic too because of the visuals.

It also integrated the use of compass to figure out the directions. Even though it was just a mock compass, but my pupils loved it! I wish I can bring the real one compass for them in the next class because not all of them have seen an actual compass before. Overall, my pupils enjoyed to be outside of the classroom. They told me that it was refreshing rather than being stucked in the classroom all the time. Based on my observation too, it helped them to figure out the locations from the worksheet better when they were outside. At the same time, I learned the importance to remind the pupils not to get distracted easily since they were outside.

The other teachers and I discussed on the I Spy activity to be conducted during the club activity to expose them to new vocabulary related to sports. This activity gradually moved up from easy level (find the sport pictures) to the hard level (naming the sports). The pupils found that it was challenging for them to name the sports, especially for the sports that they were unfamiliar with. Even so, they showed their efforts to discuss with each other to find the answers which I applaud them!

(Pupil-centred learning)

₊˚⊹ ᰔ My thoughts on the activity ₊˚⊹ ᰔ

This was a very simple yet fun activity that I conducted to teach my pupils about Wh-Questions from Topic 3 In the Past. It is important to understand the meaning of the Wh-Questions as it helps them to answer the reading comprehension questions better. After they completed this activity, I gave task of reading comprehension for my pupils to answer. As a result, they were able to answer the questions easily since they already understand the Wh-Questions concept. My pupils told me that the Ice Creams were cute and colourful. The activity was a bit chaos because everyone was intrigued to try to match the ice creams. I'm soo happy that this activity managed to make them understand the lesson well.
