PTSD affects twice as many women as men. In the United States, almost 10 per cent of women develop PTSD sometime in their lives, compared to four per cent of men.
What exactly is post-traumatic stress disorder?

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that can occur after a person has been through a traumatic event.
During a traumatic event, people think that their life or the lives of others are in danger. They may feel afraid or feel that they have no control over what is happening.
