The nurture vs nature debate looks at genetic and environmental influences on development. Nature is the inherited characteristics given to a newborn. Examples of inherited characteristics are hair colour, eye colour and blood group. A study to support nature could be " identical twins find each other after 30 years" When they first met 30 years later it was stated that it was like looking in the mirror as they first saw each other. They realised they had a lot in common such as their hand gestures and they both sat with their knees up or to the side. Nurter is to do with the upbringing of individuals and the environment they are in. The environment can affect behaviour of an individual due to the are having crime or being crime free or their living space. If an individual is brought up in an environment that is care free, they are always going have that attitude towards most things for example education. A study to support this could be "Media influence on pre-teens and teenagers: social media, movies, YouTube and apps".

Significant life event 1...
One significant life event could be losing a loved one. Physically this could run your body down which causes your immune system to weaken and your body to become achy. This could lead to isolation of the individual. Intellectually this would affect an individual by causing them a lack of concentration and can cause them to become more irritated. Emotionally, this could affect an individual by causing them to feel guilt and anger as the realisation kicks in. Socially this could affect them as they start to isolate themselves which makes them feel lonely and depressed.
Significant life event 2...
One significant life event could be an infant learning how to walk. Emotionally this would affect them to feel more better about themselves as they will have more independence. Socially this would affect them as it will increase their social life meaning they will be able to commute easier.
Significant life event 3...
One significant life event could be starting school. This would affect you physically as you will be getting involved in activities which will increase your fine and gross motor skills. Starting school could affect you intellectually as children may start misbehaving as they adjust to their new environment. This could affect them emotionally as they begin to feel shy due to meeting new people. They also may feel sad and unhappy that they have to leave their parents.
