Prior to bathing I brushed the dogs hair to try to remove any loose hair and remove any knots/ matts. The dog I placed on a slip-proof mat so that it did not panic/ slip and injure its self. The enrichment is a large paper sack that i filled with hay and carrots, this enrichment idea makes the river hogs work for part of their food - this stimulates the mind giving them things to do in the captive environment to reduce stress and stereotypical behaviours like pacing and loud vocal noises.

I am wearing the correct PPE (steel toe capped boots - to protect my feet if the pony was to stand on my foot. I worked with another student in my class to correctly restrain the pony (standing clear of the rear legs) and then correctly put the head collar on, then attach the lead rope. I am making sure that I do not clip through the quick in the nail to avoid causing pain to the budgie. From me trimming the nails I am preventing any health and well-being problems that could later affect the birds ability to  perch and move around the enclosure. Its also preventing the nails from overgrowing and curling over that could then dig in to the budgies feet.
