Introduction: This chapter shifts int o the focus of the experience of three different teachers. Each teacher has a different teaching philosophy and different background/set of experiences.

Etta Swan: A mixed race high school teacher from Pacific County who shows a large demographic of 78% of students being White with 19.5% being Black and 2% being Hispanic. The Pacific County high school is a heavily community orientated school and Etta is feeling the exhaustion of a loss of teachers from the profession. Etta's classroom is inclusive, student orientated, and a place where social justice theory is welcomed and encouraged. Etta uses a lot of their own experiences in the classroom as a teacher of who attributes different social justice beliefs to open dialogue in the classroom. It is the goal of teaching students through positive pedogies of a safe and open space to learn.

Beverly Mitchell: A middle school teacher who teaches in Apple City The school is pretty strict with their policies regarding bullying, academic success, and student conduct rules in general. Beverly's classroom is open and filled with decor trying to create a safe and fun learning environment. Beverly is white and uses teacher as a second career. Overall, Beverly uses the classroom experince as step to create a conversation for social justice and how students lives are influenced by it.

Tate Williams: A middle school teacher who teaches in southwest Harperville where there is a demographic of 52% Black or African American students, and a majority of administration is also African American. Tate's classroom is based on the idea of open conversations lead to transperacy in expectations and mutual respect. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community Tate uses their understanding of possible difficulties and experiences in their own classrooms.
