Card with crime and photo of woman called Barbara Helms.<br>2) 6 groups of 20:<br>- attractive, burglary<br>- unattractive, burglary<br>- attractive, fraud<br>- unattractive, fraud<br>- no photo, fraud<br>- no photo, burglary<br>3) Participants rated how attractive Barbara was. <br>4) "Jurors" give prison sentence. 1-15 years. <br><strong>Findings: <br></strong>- no photo: similar sentence.<br>- attractive: less for burglary, more for fraud.<br>- unattractive: more for burglary, less for fraud.<br><strong>Conclusion:<br></strong>shows importance of attractiveness on jury decision making. Good-looking people can get away with crime, especially by using their looks.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Aim: investigate whether there's a relationship between attractiveness &amp; crime committed.<br>Procedure: 6 groups of 20. Each saw either an attractive/unattractive photo of Barbra &amp; read about a fraud or burglary she'd committed. Jurors had to agree whether or not she was attractive &amp; had to assign a prison sentence ranging from 1-15 years.<br>Results: Similar sentence for both crimes. Attractiveness significant effect on sentence. Attractiveness not associated with burglary but with fraud.<br>Conclusion: Highlights effect of attractiveness on jury decision-making. If attractive people have used looks they're less likely to get away with it.</div>]]></description>

There were 6 groups of 20 participants which were given attractive/non attractive photo of Barbra and read about a fraud/burglary she committed. Attractive/burgalry<br>unattractive/burglary attractive/fraud<br>unattractive/fraud<br>no photograph<br><br>RESULTS</div><div><br></div><div>·       Unattractive and no photo, gave similar sentence for both crime</div><div>·       Attractive had longer for fraud and less for burglary</div><div>·       Unattractive had  longer for burglary and less for fraud</div><div> </div><div>CONCLUSION</div><div>·       Good looking people do get away with crime but if they have used their looks then they are less likely to get away with it</div>]]></description>
