Lucas was born in Southern California. Growing up, he took interest to nature and his surroundings very fast. There wasn't much in terms of flowers, plants, or of the like where they lived though. Its basic, and usually just ever greens or dead brush. The city itself was a concrete jungle. All he wanted was a lush forest to go explore or something of the like.
Through his grade school years, Lucas took interest in sciences. It was easy to say that it was his favorite class, unlike something tedious like English. What was the point of it? Paragraph structure? When would that be helpful.
At age 13, he stumbled across a boy being bullied at school. Lucas stepped in and shooed off the other kids, but little did he know this was the start of a friendship that would last for years to come. His name was Finch. He had his share of problems and habits, but Lucas didn't mind. They became closer in time, sticking together
Lucas' graduating year was upon him, and the talk of college was everywhere. He sent in his applications to a few colleges until he received his letter, accepted up north for UCDavis. After graduating with his five year masters, he moved back down to LA to setting down. Even still, he kept in contact with Finch. Lucas got a job at UCLA's botanical gardens soon after graduating, and he was more than content. Though he never expected to meet Elliot...

Grace Eunhye Kang was born and raised in Buena Park, California to Jisoo and Minkyung and their older daughter, Julie. From a young age, Grace had always felt uncomfortable around other girls, but it wasn't until high school that Grace had started to feel a weird sense of discomfort.
In college, Grace officially took on the name Elliot and changed pronouns from the dreaded she to he. The moment he started using this name, everything seemed to fall into place and make sense. His parents were not pleased—accusing him of being a lesbian—and Julie was the same—demanding for her sister back. Elliot paid them no mind, after many arguments, and continued his four years at college as Elliot Kang.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Chapman, Elliot wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a photographer. Unfortunately, the field is difficult for someone starting out, so his parents arranged for Elliot to live in Koreatown, Los Angeles, to live with his uncle, who did wedding photography, as his assistant.
Life with Elliot's uncle was not pleasant. His uncle refused to acknowledge his name and kept referring to him as Eunhye or Grace, and his girlfriend would do the same. Elliot was miserable living there, but it was all he could do until he was able to do something on his own. His uncle paid him a small wage and let him live under his roof rent free. He had no choice but to deal with it.
His dream, eventually, was to do photography on his own and live in his own apartment. He had no idea just how attainable that dream was until meeting Lucas.
