         <description><![CDATA[<div>- in South America&nbsp;<br>- Nazca and South American plates pushing together&nbsp;<br>- destructive boundaries&nbsp;<br>- 4,000 m high and 4,500 miles long<br><br>When two plates collide the oceanic plate is forced down into the subduction zone as it is more dense . The contental plate buckles upwards as it continues to move and as it does not dink it fold ipwards<br><br>Farming:<br>-terraces are areas of land cut into the mountain to produce flat areas of land for farming, they&nbsp; retain water and limit down ward movement&nbsp;<br>- cash crops are sold quickly in the lower valley, it is flat and fertile land&nbsp;<br><br>Hydroelectric power:<br>- the steep solves, glacier meltwater, narrow valleys and rapid water fall make it an I deal place to build a dam. They are a power sauce to local communities and creates more jobs in that industry and area.<br><br>Mining:<br>-tin minded in Peru , silver in chilli.<br>- cynaide sprayed and extracted with the gold<br>- minerals pushed to the surface and left exposed when brought up.<br>-supply's could become contaminated.<br><br>Tourism :&nbsp;<br>- tracking and sing is important aspect of life, an income fir the area and job Oppotunity for the locals.<br><br>Llamas:<br>-they carry materials and recourse up the hills for people, also used for food, clothing&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Magnitude 9 earthquake<br>- focus 24km underground&nbsp;<br>- destructive plate boundary (Eurasia and Pacific)<br>-10 waves each over 10 ft tall<br><br>Primary affectes:<br>- shipping was disrupted due to closers and destruction of ports (primary)<br>-travel heavily disrupted but no damaged occurred as lines stopped after initially tremors&nbsp;<br>-20,000 people stared in Tokyo&nbsp;<br>-water born diseases spread through emergency camps<br>-15.600 deaths (65% over 60)<br>-46,000 buildings destroyed and 144,300 damaged<br>-1.5 billion homes left without water and electricity&nbsp;<br><br>Secondary affects:<br>-agriculture damaged as seawater contaminated crops and affected then for years&nbsp;<br>-200,000'people evacuated from a 20km exclusion zone around Fukushima and still haven't returned<br>-&nbsp; radiation levels increase sue to Fukushima, and found in water supply's and the envioment<br><br>Immediate response:<br>- within 30 minuets 11 military aircraft severed the damage and made aid plans<br>- Japanese army moved in and clears all debris in 2days<br>- helicopters rescued people from roof tops&nbsp;<br>-450,00 people in emergency shelters with poor supplies<br>- 91 countries offers aid<br><br>Long term responses:<br><br>-by November airports and ports were running<br>- December 2013 an improved warning system added&nbsp;<br>- Japan shut down all nuclear power stations and on,y 3 out of 50 have reopened&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
