On November 9, 1938, close to 100 Jews were murdered. Jewish homes, business, and synagogues were attacked by Nazi storm troopers. By the end of 1939, a number of Jews fled to other countries. Many chose to stay in Germany. After Hitler conquered territories where the millions of Jews lived. After countries admitted ten of thousands Jewish refugees, they closed their doors to further immigration. For example France, Britain, and the United States. "We all want to get rid of our Jews. After Hitler's failed attempt at emigration solution. Around late 1941 he came up with another plan. He ordered all the Jews under his control to be move to a designated area. "The Nazi'z herded the Jews into dismal, overcrowded ghettos, or segregated Jewish areas." Which was then sealed off with barbed wire and stone walls. They hoped that the Jews would starve and die from diseases. However, the Jews hung on. Hitler grew impatient waiting for the Jews to die from starvation and diseases. So he went to a more direct approach Genocide.  He sent the Jews to concentration camps that were located mainly in Germany and Poland. Hitler hoped it would speed up the killing process due to the harsh conditions. They would work seven days a week with meals of thin soup, a scrap of bread, and potato peelings. The Hunger was so intense that if soup was spilled they would drink it from the floor. In 1942 the Nazis built extermination camps equipped with huge gas chambers that could kill as many 6,000 human beings in a day. When the Jews arrived a t Auschwitz, the largest extermination camp. The doctors separated the strong from the weak. Which was mostly young children, women,the elderly, and the sick. Those that were labeled weak died. They were told to undress for a shower and led into the chamber with fake shower heads. After the door closed cyanide gas or carbon monoxide poured form shower heads or holes in the ceiling. They were all killed in minutes.
