Every family has an autistic child always think about this child's future, and if he will be able to be included in the community and the workforce. If he is can individually live on his own or he will be dependent on his parents for the rest of his life.

I see Connor DeWolfe's TikToks as empowering the "client". He offers short skits that educate both people with ADHD and their allies or just anyone about what the life experience is really like, and offers loads of ideas and supports for the many different ways ADHD can manifest in different people. He addresses his audience as the client who is free to take what is useful to them. He also uses a lot of comedy interspersed with valuable information that most people have never heard from a doctor or expert.--Georgy Monnier

Tragedy/Charity Model

As adorable as this little sloth is, the catch phrase is emphasizing a tragic element rather than one of positivity or ability. Maybe they meant a mole but made it cuter like a sloth? I don't quite get it, but... the white ribbon is one symbol for blindness awareness. Mostly running on empty is not a phrase I am able to interpret in any other way than lack, loss, need.

I feel this image is all about what the person does not have, their loss, and the implied tragedy of being less than whole. The image of a puzzle piece missing shows an obvious lack, imperfection, with no suggestion of anything beyond the static state of being impaired in terms of hearing ability. At First Place Transition Academy they are helping young adults with autism to live on their own and support themselves. they help them to access employment, and allow them to access social activities, and all aspects of life. It took those young men twelve month or those young men more to be able to work and learn other skills to be independent. Before that those young men weren't able to get a job and live indecently. Autistic people always have been stigmatized with their inability to work as their impartment could prevent them from being productive, and economically independent.

Autism can be a barrier, preventing individuals from participating in work, and effects individuals' productivity. It is likely that there will be people with autism that will prevent them from working. There will be others whose productivity level is so low, so the employers think they should be removed from employment. Those individuals will relay on social security wedge, other than being partners in the general society prosperity. But I believe others with autism can be included in the workforce by getting them into programs that teach them the proper skills they need to be live individually.

Traumatic brain injury can look different for everyone who has had it. Our brains are one of the most essential parts of our bodies, and everyone's brains work differently. However, most of us have a clear path to allow information to travel throughout our bodies. Sometimes, when someone has experienced a traumatic brain injury, it can be like a puzzle, where they have all the pieces, but no matter how many times they turn the pieces, they do not connect. Since our brains are so different, each person who experiences a traumatic brain feels different, or it affects their body differently.

There are different types of traumatic brain injury. Anyone who may experience a traumatic brain injury will have effects that affect how they might develop. Since it can look different for everyone, we have to look at the person as an individual in the care that they need instead of the consistent treatment that others would receive for a different type of injury or illness. According to the medical model, the source of the problem within a single impaired person concludes that solutions are found by focusing on the individual.

One part of this trailer that stood out to me was his determination to get back on the board because it is something he loves. However, his family, who had to witness all the struggles he had to go through after his accident, left them feeling scared. When someone experiences a traumatic brain injury, it does affect them physically as well as emotionally. Still, it can also affect their loved ones emotionally because they have to witness a change in who they grew to know and love, and also make sure they are there to help support when things might be difficult.

It reminds me of how one's emotions can vary depending on the situation, triggers and what they are feeling in the moment. I do not know much about this disability, but what I have learned has helped me understand it better.

I chose Tourette Syndrome because There are a lot of stigmas surrounding this disease. I also feel that people downplay or depict this illness as something that it is not. So I googled orthopedic impairment and click on news. This article is from last week, Apr 25, 2024. Orthopedic impairment is a disability Oklahoma is considering not allowing corporal punishment on students. I have many thoughts. I am shocked this is still legal in any state in the US. Only certain disabilities will be covered by this bill. Finally, this bill FAILED to pass last year.

I chose dyslexia because so many people are silently struggling with it, I personally know adults who have it and are embarrassed to get help, so they avoid reading and writing.
