When looking to find reliable sources, using Nelson made the job a lot easier for me. In our class sessions, we were shown how to use Nelson and how to easily find relevant sources for our assignment. Nelson allows you to specify on what type of articles you wish to see. When searching for articles relating to my home degree, I was given the option to see everything to do with my home degree or only view 'journal articles'. Because Nelson is easy to use, I found that finding sources for my assignment was not difficult.
I knew that searching on Google for academic journals would not give me the right articles i would be looking for.

Before starting my assignment, I knew that i would be able to find all my sources on Nelson. When seeing options, I came across articles that did not have any relevance to what I was looking for. Nelson is reliable as it is a search engine provided by the university. Any article you find on Nelson is acceptable to use when doing assignments. Articles on Nelson are all cited and are referenced. This means that the information that we read in articles and use in our work can be backed up.

Google can be very reliable, depending on what you're looking for. Searching for journal articles may not be as reliable as Nelson as people can easily change information. In the screenshot below shows the results when i searched for 'recruitment in university articles'. The first result shows that it was posted by The Guardian which tells me that the article will be based on opinions and not facts.

The aim of my assignment is to find out how recruitment has changed in the 21st century in universities. The articles i have chosen are relevant to the criteria as they all focus on how recruitment has developed and how the process has changed overtime.
