Josh Barney has used this education in different roles, including positions as a special education teacher, a health and physical education teacher, and a football coach.

As an assistant football coach at Grossmont College in La Mesa, California, Josh Barney oversaw both individual and team sports. He also researched and analyzed games, ensured player health through fitness and nutrition regimens, and encouraged players to participate in other recreational sports for overall wellness.

Mr. Barney also coached the football team at Helix High School in La Mesa and Steel Canyon High School in Spring Valley. At Helix, his team won the San Diego Section Championship in 2000 with a perfect undefeated record. He coached NFL players Reggie Bush, Alex Smith, Darrell Hutsona, and Todd Watkins. At Steel Canyon, Mr. Barney led his team to win the 2017 California State Championship.

As a coach, Mr. Barney loves watching and attending college football games in his free time. He also enjoys playing baseball and golf and traveling to tropical destinations in the United States.
