And they way you would have to travel to California! You would have to go by a BOAT! So a shovel in Home Depot is about 10 to 5 dollars but,in the gold rush it wouldn't be dollars it would be gold and a lot of it,probably like 400 stacks of gold! That is also why not many people went back to there family that rich! It took months and maybe years! To go to California by boat it can take 10 months or even a year! That is also how it was a very hard time! It would feel like sleeping and sitting and eating  and again sleeping well you get it. You couldn't do barely anything. It would take probably as long as if you where at California going to Michigan not by plane not by boat nor by helicopter or on your feet. (that would burn) BUT BY CAR!
