Winds may top 250 km (400 km) and can clear a path with  a mile (1.6 km) wide and  50 miles  (80 km) long. A tornado  forms  when changes in wind speed and direction creates a horizontal spinning  function in a storm cell this efect is then tipped vertical by riseing air moving  upwards through thunder clouds. People,cars, and even buildings  maybe hurled aloft by the tornado the wind are so strong stuff simply just get blown away most injuries or deaths are from flying debris. Funnels typically grow about 660 feet (200 meters) wide. Tornado's form when humid air collides with cold dry air. the denser cold air is pushed over the warm air and creates a v shape funnel  and the warm air rises through  and when it hits the ground it becomes a tornado
