Human focus, learning to look at problems from the end users perspective rather than your own.

Based on Abductive Thinking.  You start with an incomplete set of observations and proceed to the likeliest outcome.  

To successfully implement design thinking you have to have an openness and the willingness to take a creative leap.  Be happy to take a chance.

Instead of thinking what "it" should be,  you have to take a leap into uncertainty.  Accept uncertainty, build prototypes and experiment and keep learning, keep building.  Iterate, repeat and learn.  

Create an environment where no one is afraid to fail or be judged.
It is OK to fail. Reward spectacular failure.  Be prepared to follow a path that doesn't exist yet.

It is vital to keep seeing problems from new perspectives.  

'Shoshin ' is a term from Zen Buddhism and it means a beginners mind or "correct truth".  This open, beginners mind is the essence of Design thinking for me.

It has a technology driven focus. Finished design often reflects perspective of the designer more than the people who may use it.

Based on deductive reasoning.  You start with a general hypothesis to reach a logically certain conclusion.  All premises must be true or your conclusions will be invalid.

Design has many areas of specialised expertise, such as visual, user experience and user research or front end development.

When implementing design you are taking a technical risk to build a new product.

Expertise can create closed mindedness. Designers can reach to past experience for a solution rather than looking for new creative paths.
