Nicknamed as “El Potrillo” by the media and his fans, he has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Alejandro is the son of the legendary ranchera singer Vicente Fernández. He originally specialized in traditional, earthy forms of Mexican folk music, such as mariachi and ranchera

The sisters were natives of Kutaisi, and formed a singing group in 1918 to perform concerts around that town; this disbanded
the following year. In 1941, they officially reconstituted the group, which consisted of Nino, Tamari, Zinaida, and Alexandra; Tamari served as director, and also composed a number of songs for the ensemble. The sisters performed concerts for the military during World War II, and in 1949 were named Honored Artists of Georgia. Mariam was later named an Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR, and Tamari received the same honor in 1976.

There are two kinds of panduri in Georgia: one is the traditional "folk" panduri, which typically has seven frets and more closely approximates the scale divisions in the non-Western Georgian scale system. The second kind is the "chromatic" panduri, which has the same tonal divisions as a guitar and is capable of reproducing all the half-steps of the tempered Western scale. It is also sometimes found in Western Georgia (Upper Imereti and Racha). The two-stringed panduri survives in Khevsureti.
