He should speak to the student's parents to better understand the situation and work with the parents to work a solution.<br><br>2. Approach ROs / SLs&nbsp;to alert them about the issues the students has and seek their advice.<br><br>3. Can voice our opinions but not at publicly like social media and FB.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Mr C should not sign it.&nbsp; Instead he should approach the YH for advice.&nbsp; Teachers must bear in mind, as public servants, there are a few protocols that we have to adhere to.&nbsp; As educators, we should not take sides.&nbsp; It will be good to give a balanced view on both sides of the matter.&nbsp;<br>Mr C could explain to the student why he could not explain the petition.  He could perhaps give suggestions on how the student could seek further help pertaining to the problem that she is facing. </div>]]></description>

We can help in other ways eg finding out more and how the school can help in terms of pocket money scheme.&nbsp;<br>Question 2<br>Other channels, look into child's well being and family.&nbsp;<br>Explain the national policy to child, using it as a teachable moment. Speak to child's family about child emotional state and how we can help.&nbsp;<br>Question 3<br>As civil servants, we are not supposed to take part in sharing government policies in public and private domains.&nbsp;<br>Question 4<br>It is very difficult to differentiate between public and personal capacity as most people will associate us with being a teacher&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

As public officers, we should not give feedback on government policies through improper channels e.g. petitions</div><div>The government have given careful considerations when implementing policies. Signing a petitions will not work at all/ reverse the government’s decision <br><br><strong>2.</strong> What are the channels/avenues for Mr C to express his opinions and concerns regarding Government policies?</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>There are proper channels for us to give feedback e.g. PS 21 where opinions are only shared amongst civil servants, not with the public.&nbsp;</div><div>We also have conversations with visiting ministers/ government officials in schools.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>4. </strong>What about public officers supporting causes in a personal capacity?</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>It depends on the issues/matters that you are advocating, as long as it does not go against the government policies. If the petition/cause is questioning government policies, then it is dangerous and not to support.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Instead he should look into FAS and other means to help the child.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Encourage discussion as to allow the students to better understand the rationale behind the ban on PMD. Mr P should gently remind his colleagues to be on task so as to keep the meeting ongoing and set clear ground rules and objectives so that everyone is aware of the time and be on task. He could also step-up to lead the discussion. Mr P could also remind Ms Z to have the meeting in another location and&nbsp;<br><br>2. Teachers having meetings at home should find a quiet room or space free from distractions to have meetings. Headphones / earpieces should be used if there are others around who should not know about the discussions taking place. </div>]]></description>
