Excitement: I am looking forward to expanding the use of technology in my classroom. I believe it will raise student engagement.

Worries: Trying to find second grade appropriate technology/apps.

Needs: More technology training (for me and my students).

Stance and Steps: I want my classroom to be less textbook based and more technology based. I want to find technological tools that my students can use in our inquiry planners.

Excitements - It sounds like it is less prep for the teacher and more work for the student.

Worries - I <3 being in control. This gives the students control which is tough for me to do!

Needs - How can this be adapted to the LOTE classroom?

Stance & Steps - Inquiry-based education sounds fantastic! When teaching short stories, I can have them do videos (news reports, interviews, etc) instead of just answer reading comprehension questions.

Math: I sometimes give students a new concept problem with the answer and let students find a way of how to get to this answer (show your work, always, always, always)

Excitements-Students take charge of their learning and can be creative...with MATH!

Worries-Reputable sources...off-task on computers

Needs-teach HOW TO search...key words in search box, not a word-for-word question...this get GOOD info about the topic...

Stance and Steps-have students TEACH a lesson using technology...Glogster, Prezi, etc. Students learn and retain when they TEACH.

Needs: need to practice on my own to feel comfortable sharing this

E-I can outline the unit and teach the information and let the kids go with different options to do hands on

W-teaching the how to use technology component to 6th graders may take too much time

N-I need to use some down time to learn how to use the technology on my own to work out the kinks

S-I am really liking this idea. In my classroom I am going to use the webcast idea to "show" that the students understand the content learned
