My name is Fernando, I am a professor of computer tools in business management faculty Metropolitan University in the city of Machala in Ecuador. And I hope to learn a new way of teaching through the use of tablets.

My course is to introduce students of business management in the use of office tools such as word, excel, power point and web 2.0 tools such as Prezi, one drive, blogs, etc. We have well equipped laboratories and our classes are at night, since the vast majority of students work and study.

I think the use of the tablets within the class give a big advantage. I wearer tablets with my students to use applications like one drive, to take notes or create presentations for our classes more quickly and collaborate with others.

The biggest challenge to overcome

I think one of the biggest challenges that students would use the devices to learn and not just for use in the facebook or youtube as a distraction. I think ee using the right apps and raise from the beginning the rules, it can be a good start in the inclusion of tables in the process of learning.

3 What classroom challenges do I already face or do I anticipate facing when using tablets?

I, like other colleagues, I think the biggest challenge is to use tablets for class and avoid distractions, which will always be present. But I think with the right strategy and clear rules, I can realize its potential .But, as shown in one of the videos, it's not something you plan on a weekend, so it should have a strategy well planned, covering: resources, activities and communication.

In my classes I used I Edmodo for a couple of years, at the Metropolitan University, but only through computers and students who have smartphone application, which I have had excellent results for both students and for me as a teacher and it has many advantages such as share additional information on classes, pdfs, links, etc. You can send tasks with deadlines, make online questionnaires timeout. Students always will see their grades, even if they have missed classes will be able to see if there are pending tasks to be performed, etc. Last year I taught a course to other profes sors University on this platform, to encourage them to use it, those who have been prácitica have realized its benefits and have better communication with their students. 1. What is your main reason for using or wanting to use tablets in your classroom?

I think it would greatly improve learning using tablets, since students are encourages more research, for example, to find their own answers, to be more collaborative with peers, make great use of technology for their daily activities, both classes and in their work. For me as a teacher is a new experience trying to use tablets and use them in class, but I think a unique opportunity to improve.

I think the strength to be found by people with less technical knowledge, which usually are teachers who do not know how to use computers or tablets, in my case since, I'm the professor of computer science, I think you should have a strategy, such as giving a talk or workshop on the subject, for authorities and teachers see using tablets as a new lead in teaching and not as a problem

My First Task in class

using the tablet and combining it with the virtual classroom I think we could create an interesting activity with my students: - Would send research a topic and make a video which explained the issue investigated therefore must involve all members of the group and would be easily identified. -The Video must be edited using any app as Andromedia. Then upload the video to the virtual classroom to share with the rest of the course and allow comments from other colleagues. It is not an original idea, but I think to start work well.

Reflect on how you gather information about the learning styles of your students. How do you know what types of learners there are?

I think they encourage a presentation of the course each student through a platform like padlet and allow each describing himself could give us an idea of the interest of each. You can also do surveys using google forms that could help us at the beginning of the course.
