I noticed that the groups were relatively small, which allowed for easy one-on-one teacher-student interaction. This is so incredibly important for our approaching readers. I also noticed on an earlier page that there were specific "print" and "meaning" strategies identified, and I want to type up a placemat style document so that students who are not reading with me have something to use if they are "stuck". Often times these students have no idea what to do, so they just sit there waiting or they just skip over the confusing parts.
