In "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas," Ursula Le Guin implies the good of many in a utopian society at the expense of one. The author uses contrasting ideas to display irony in the story, imagery to give an indescribable vision to the audience, and pathos to appeal to the emotion of every individual reader. This is written to explain how a victory, being euphoric happiness, at the sacrifice of one's happiness, is really no victory at all.
In brief, It is made for an audience that is of age to understand the euphoric doom of the text and can relate to the feeling of wanting eternal happiness but ironically can never get it.

In a passage from "The One Who Walks Away From Omelas," Ursula Le Guin expresses the archaic happiness that goes on in the town of Omelas. She feeds the reader this story, full of joy and choices, but then reveals the truth by combining imagery, irony, and tone to show up the true horrors of Omelas. Le Guin writes about this to make the reader have an internal struggle about what they think is correct and what should be done.

Ostensibly, this passage is written for those who may feel that their life may be the same as the child underneath Omelas, alone and locked away, or for those who feel like they're the one living in Omelas, consumed by fake smile and fake happiness.
