After the laws of Jim Crow, the black people weren't allowed to live in the same street as the white people. The black flatmate couldn't live with the white owner. The black society was allowed to walk in the street dedicated to the black community. And the same for the white community! The white people could be bad with black people even in the street. We think the segregation is very very bad because the black people are like the white people.
