There are some things that are very important in my life which I love. Being with my family and helping people in need is very meaningful to me. The satisfaction and happiness that brings me is unimaginable. I also love to praise God for the amazing things that have happened to me like the opportunities that I have had to travel. I am really good at listening to others when they need someone to talk to and give my shoulder to cry on. Also, being there and helping people if I can to make them feel better and not alone. In addition, I am good at doing stuff independently because I like sometimes to be on my own. I can get paid for doing what I love, helping others. For example, nursing it’s a beautiful career that focuses on caring for not just the ill or the wounded but for helping the community stay healthy. This said, I can get paid really well for being a nurse. The world needs a lot of things, but I believe that right now we are having a shortage of healthcare providers due to the covid-19 pandemic, such as nurses, doctors, techs, etc. People are quitting their jobs and now more than ever the world needs more healthcare workers. After answering these questions and reflecting on a deeper level, I am certain that my Ikigai or my purpose of life is caring for humanity.

In my case, things that I love involve drawing, painting and reading, things that I do for myself in my free time. On the social side, I love helping those who really need help. I'm caring, a great listener, and a giver, so I realized I'm a caregiver. Although it could sound selfish, it makes me happy to know that I do good for others. That's why when thinking about the things that I love to do and what the world needs, I quickly think of the field of sciences related to healthcare. It's important for the world to have more people who can contribute their “grain of sand'' in improving the healthcare system. So, related to what I love, healthcare and money, there is the nursing profession. This is a career that I know a lot about thanks to the fact that I have many relatives who worked in that field. Being good at following instructions, observing and analyzing my surroundings, I can say that nursing is a goal for me to achieve, and, that is part of my reason to live, part of my ikigai. I say part because ikigai shouldn't just be based on a job. For me, reasons to live also include being happy and feeling at peace with whatever you do. Samó Trossi, I am 18 years old, and I live in Caguas. While I did my IKIGAI I was trying to find my purpose in life. Find the things I love, what I am good at, what I can get money for and what the world needs. For starters I love playing Softball been doing it for 9 years already, and from my perspective I am good at it. I also love hanging with my friends and helping people in need. Always have the mindset that everyone needs a helping hand. Stuff that I’m good at is playing sports, doing nails, singing, and drawing. Which I do often to try and relax when I’m stress out. I can get paid for doing what I love and what I’m good at which can be a softball instructor or a nail tech. Sometimes what the world needs it’s just a helping hand for it to become a better place and together we can make it happened, maybe not now, but with time we can.

I have to speak almost everyday in English in front of the whole class answering the professor’s questions and reading whatever he presents. I like taking these kinds of risks because I want to be better at my English for future purposes which can help me in the search for a job in the United States of America. Another risk that I have taken in this class is creating my online portfolio with wix which was a bit difficult at first. But, this actually was a great experience to organize my assignments and to have the knowledge of making an online portfolio or website.

A lot of kinds of people take risks in their everyday lives. The people that want to survive and have a future in this world take a lot of risks. For example, someone that studies full time and has a job has to make a lot of sacrifices to make that work and manage their time efficiently. In addition, I believe that firefighters, soldiers, and policemen take huge risks everyday while doing their job rescuing people and going on missions. But, it’s part of their lives and without them a lot of people would have lost their lives.
